Kooroorinya Falls Nature Reserve
Located 54km south of Prairie on the Prairie-Muttaburra Road, Kooroorinya Falls Nature Reserve provides an oasis in the Desert Uplands.
Travelling 54km south of Prairie, travellers will be sure to find a relaxing spot at Kooroorinya Nature Reserve. Although the falls generally only run over during wet season, there is a permanent billabong is located at the base of the falls. This provides an excellent swimming and fishing spot.
Keen fishers may get the chance to hook a yellow belly, black bream or catch some red claw. Be sure to bring along your camera as there are beautiful rock formations waiting to be explored. As there is a water source, bird watching is possible as well as seeing an array of other wildlife.
The camp site offers modern toilet facilities, hot showers and fire pits. Drinking water is available and visitors can self register on site.
Kooroorinya comes alive every May for the Oakley Amateur Picnic Races. This weekend is always a fantastic one with plenty of country hospitality. Camping, food, licensed bar, kid’s activities, entertainment and more is ensured!
